Alberobello

The capital of the Trulli famous all over the world.

It is the capital of the trulli, special conical dwellings declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996.

Among the alleys of the historic center, to characterize the Monti and Aia Piccola districts, stands the Trullo Sovrano, the largest in the country. Elevated to National Monument, it is located behind the Basilica of SS. Medici and is now used as a museum. Do not miss a visit to the Museum of the Territory, where the precious testimonies of the local peasant culture are kept. The Church of Sant’Antonio and the Wine Museum are also interesting.
